30 part deux

Following a good response from people regarding the previous post (30), I have further formulated a plan on what I want this piece to be about.

It seems to me that there are issues regarding and pressures put upon women's lives in a way that is not the case when it comes to men's lives. Of course this isn't exclusive to women aged 30, but it's still a milestone age and therefore some of the issues and pressures arise or become more prominent when a woman hits this age.

So here's what I'm asking: can you write one sentence (or more if you want) giving your thoughts or opinion on what an issue or kind of pressure might be? Even if you're not sure, just a few words on what you think could possibly may be an issue will do!

I would like to see both sides in this performance, perhaps with some singing? Maybe the audience could hear the thoughts of the male and female 30 year olds and they could interact. Perhaps the internal monologue wouldn't be so dissimilar.

Maybe the piece could be based on goals and pressures at stages of peoples lives, e.g. 15, 20, 25, 30 etc. Then you could have audio and an array of dancers. I realize this isn't really what you asked for but i wanted to help!

Also, if you're going to perform this piece, remember to invite people!

Touche!

Thanks for the comments, sounds like a great piece and maybe if I can gather the forces and material for it, I can put it together.

I'm starting with women's experience because a) it's my own experience and b) I do think that there are pressures imposed on women in a way that are not on men. That's not to say that men have it easy, and your suggestion for a bigger piece looking at various stages for both men and women is great. If the first stage is successful I will take it in that direction!
